Top Tips for Your Working Wardrobe

Top Tips for Your Working Wardrobe

It would seem that the days of the mandatory “shift” in the school walls are long gone. There is no strict head teacher or attentive attendants, which means you can forget about interchangeable slippers? Frankly, we do not recommend. And that’s why.

First, interchangeable shoes are convenient. Often-thick casual shoes for the street are not very practical in the building. It can be heavy and greatly restricts movement (especially when it comes to boots and boots).

Secondly, if on duty you do not sit still, but are constantly on the move, then you can’t do without a practical shift. Naturally, it is better to opt for models without a heel – on a flat sole or platform.

In addition, some offices have a strict dress code: you can’t wear shoes or sandals in this case.

The next reason to have a spare pair at work is new shoes. This problem is especially relevant at the beginning of any season, when you change what you have gotten used to in a few months for something new. It is likely that the new thing will not immediately “sit down like a glove” and at first it will cause a little discomfort or even rub. If a “reserve” is waiting for you at work, then you will be able to get out of this situation without significant loss of strength and nerves.

The fifth reason is your health. In the winter season, we put on heavy and as warm shoes as possible on the street. No wonder, because in our latitudes the thermometer sometimes drops to minus thirty degrees! But in a building where it is approximately +20 degrees, such shoes are not very comfortable. Feet will sweat (even if these are boots from the highest quality shoes), you will feel uncomfortable, and besides, the risk of foot fungus will increase. Agree, the prospects are not very pleasant.

Well, last on the list, but not least, the reason to wear removable shoes is cleanliness. Replaceable shoes will allow you to leave “overboard” the slush of autumn and the sand and salt baths of winter.

Also, it is worth noting that spreading dirt and dust from the street around the office is not very hygienic, which will damage not only your health (inhaled dust clogs the respiratory tract, causes allergies, and can cause headaches), but also the health of your colleagues around you. You can store the shoes in which you came in in work wardrobes.

Moccasins, ballet shoes are perfect for the role of beautiful, but comfortable interchangeable shoes, for ladies who want to always “be on top” – classic pumps with a small heel. For men, we suggest taking off your heavy boots and trying on something lighter and more comfortable. The same moccasins, for example, or light shoes. We do not recommend walking around the office in slippers. This is somehow not very presentable, especially if you occupy some kind of “serious” position or just follow your style.

Add accessories

There is nothing simpler and at the same time more complicated than an office dress code. It would seem that an employee should come to work in strictly formal clothes: a suit with trousers or a skirt, shoes with heels or flat soles. But sometimes it is difficult to competently combine elements of clothing or select things according to size.

Business style rules for women

Women have more choice of clothes in a formal business style. The wardrobe can be chosen both for the cold season and for the warm season.
Clothing should be in classic colors: black, white, gray or blue. The choice of costume is quite variable. It may consist of an elongated jacket covering the hips and trousers.

Skirts of different lengths often become part of a set of clothes. You can complement the image with a classic fitted or loose shirt, a turtleneck or a T-shirt without a print, which will not take away attention from the main color of the suit.

In the office, you can also wear a strict dress with a length just above or below the knees. The style can be fitted or with a loose skirt from the hip. The main rule is no deep neckline. It is also better to avoid short sleeves, and knitwear can only be worn with a rigid cut.

Tights should be nude or black with no unusual design or mesh. Shoes – closed classic shoes with heels from three to seven centimeters or loafers.

As accessories, you can choose discreet earrings (for example, studs), rings without large stones, or an elegant, but not frilly chain. Keep balance in mind and don’t wear too many rings and earrings to work. Piercing in a formal business image is unacceptable.

Formal business style for men

The choice of clothes for men for the office is limited. It’s always a suit and shirt. If in hot weather women can come to work in a skirt, then men can only choose a suit from a less dense fabric.

Colors in clothes should be restrained. Often it is black, gray, dark blue or brown. You can choose a shirt in purple, blue, pink, but in muted pastel shades.

Socks should be black and high. Choose closed shoes for the office, darker than the color of the suit. Shoes must be uniform.

As accessories, you can choose a watch, cufflinks, a tie, as well as a leather belt.

If the dress code is harsh?

All reputable organizations are distinguished by the presence of corporate identity. Many spend crazy amounts of money to develop their own dress code. The image of firms and enterprises plays a significant role, and therefore everyone who wants to create the right impression about a company in the modern market tries to adhere to the rules of the dress code. What is a dress code anyway? What is a corporate dress code?

The phrase dress code means “code of dress”. That is, a dress code is understood as an acceptable style of clothing and some rules for wearing it. Not to be confused with uniform. Clothing of different styles is allowed, but meeting the same rules and laws that are developed in a particular organization. The dress code may vary depending on the type of business.

We have considered the narrow concept of the phrase dress code, but in a broad sense it means something else: representatives of different sexual orientations, religions, nationalities and even occupations can have a certain position. For example, actors, museum workers, couturiers, people of other creative professions are allowed to wear extravagant clothes, while a strict classic business style is inherent in bank employees, businessmen, politicians, etc. If we are talking about the dress code of modern large companies, then it should be noted:

  • It is not permissible to appear in the same clothes three days in a row.
  • All employees in the wardrobe should have several formal suits.
  • All items of clothing should be in harmony in color and style.

Such strict dress code rules are the key to a good reputation of the organization. The appearance of employees speaks better than any numbers about how things are going in the company. It’s no wonder why the phrase dress code causes a certain trepidation in many people before an interview. And some people are completely horrified. Firstly, it obliges to match the desired style. Secondly, it is extremely difficult to guess with the desired style and color of clothing. Many openly declare: “this is a dress code, everything is not easy here.”

What to wear on first day of work

If you are hesitating about what to wear, you should ask the recruiter or manager what the company’s dress code is during the interview. Appropriate clothes will help you feel confident and successfully present yourself in a new team
Oh yes, it is important! And even if you are told that there is no dress code as such, it is not a green light to wear the most outrageous outfit. Be that as it may, new colleagues will form the first opinion about you that day. You probably wouldn’t want everyone to remember your weird shorts instead of your face.

On this day, it is better to choose clothes in calm colors and things in which you feel comfortable. On the first working day, the employee is registered, so you will have to travel around the office, sign documents, etc., so take care of comfortable shoes.

Remember that the gaze of new colleagues, aimed at your appearance, will not miss a single detail. Hair should be neatly folded into a hairstyle, and the manicure should appear fresh and discreet.

As for jewelry, 4-5 positions will be enough. Pearls, a brooch, stud earrings, an inconspicuous bracelet will do. A watch with a dim dial or a plain scarf is allowed.

Give preference to discreet shades so as not to stand out from the general background, but to complete a harmonious outfit.

It is important to understand that Business Formal is not just a business style, it is a whole philosophy of success. If you can successfully create an external image, then the internal mood and perseverance will appear themselves. In such a tandem, the bow of a first-class professional who loves his work is guaranteed to you!
